The LoftCube
Cool modern modular house.
I emailed their pre-sales support…
Yes, a 6600 GT will support 1920 x 1200 on DVI-D with the blanking off.
Nice.
I use a Mac as well as a Windows box at work. I’ve noticed a few things that are good about the Mac and I’ve noticed a few things that are bad.
One easy target is the Apple mouse. This is definitely one of the “most useless” mouse to have ever been created. Single button, no scrollweel, the button is the whole top. Lame lame lame.
I bought the monitor. It should be here in a few days, I’ll give an update then.

“What should I do?”
Anybody who has known me has heard me ask this over and over.
The Dilemma of the Week.
Should I:
Get two LCD displays? Pros: more pixels, economical (3200 x 1200) Cons: not good for video, good for programming
or
Should I get a wide-screen display? (1920 x 1200) Pros: Great for video Cons: not good for apps that maximize
For some reason, I feel like the wide/cinema is the way to go.
What should I do??
While surfing the Nvidia site, I found a link to the PS3 announcement at E3. Wow - the PS3 is truly a monster. The device can do 2 TFLOPS and HDTV progressive video (as well as support Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth and on and on). When this thing comes out, it is going to take a while to figure out the limits of that platform.
Update - definitely watch the Unreal Tournament demo in the video
Wow, I was surfing around and researching DVI video. Tom’s Hardware has this great article on the DVI standard. It’s older, but still relevant. All you wanted to know and more.
If you’ve played a lot of Counter Strike, then you’ll find this video to be quite quite awesome.
