If you want to make an easy $25 or 10% of $250 in one month, read on or contact me
Well, still here, :-). A while back, I decided to have an account to hold cash for 6 months of savings. I then looked around for the best account and I found the ING Direct savings account to be the best all around. There are no fees and no minimums. The interest rate is excellent and continues to go up. The account also links directly with my checking for easy access. In fact, after a large trade last year, I moved my future tax payment there to collect a little more interest. The transfers in and out were fast and flawless. Hey, and the interest for the 2 or so months was much better than a brick and mortar bank. Every little bit helps.
Before I joined, I found out that one of my friends had an account. It turned out that they have a referral system. When I signed up through him, I received $25 and he received $10. The only requirement was a $250 dollar balance in the account. This was not a problem for me since I intended to have more than that for the initial balance. Boom, free money.
So, as I was reviewing my balances, I noticed that I have more invites available. Contact me if you need an invite and get some free cash.

I don’t have a mac these days, but if I did, I would probably try out this browser called Shiira. It is always good to see people attempt to innovate with results that are pleasing to the eye.
Update: fixed link. Thx Giao
I was researching a topic a few days ago and I happened upon Bob Ippolitos blog post on Amazons S3 service. As I was reading it, I thought I noticed something familiar. Bob is a co-founder at mochimedia. I just met Jameson Hsu the CEO at a RockYou party a month or so ago. I was introduced to him by one of our investors. He’s a smart guy and I was telling him about how excited I was about S3. He seemed interested since he said they were thinking of looking at it. He might have misinterpreted my excitement about it, since I never mentioned using it as a CDN. At the time, I even mentioned that there were problems when you tried to get consistent results from the service… it has issues. I might consider the Bit-Torrent style interface for a torrent, but I wouldn’t even consider them as a CDN.
Anyways, I like Bob’s blog, and will continue to check it out. Why? It is an great example of the variety of technologies that people are using these days (refreshing!) … and that will be the subject of another blog post.
This site has a great writeup/comparison of the various VPS (virtual private server) hosting plans available. Quite interesting. I believe that this type of hosting will become more popular versus racking and hosting your own machine. The economics and flexibility are just so much better.
Note, if you use Interland, they advertise a VPS type server, but it is not the same. They are just using the FreeBSD jail mechanism to let you think that you are using a VPS. Still, that might be fine for some of your needs.
So, the F# language (or F Sharp) is a version of CAML or OCaml on .NET
A guy at the Flying Frong Consultance did a quick ray tracer in F# that is quite concise and parallelizable. Neat!
